Our Pastor

Shepherd of Peace Church pastor

Christ died for all, that those who live
should no longer live for themselves but
for him who died for them
and was raised again.

                                  (2 Corinthians 5:15)

Pastor Stephen Kuehl began serving at Shepherd of Peace in July of 2011.  He and his wife, Charis, moved from Saginaw, Michigan, where he had served for two years at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, one of the two WELS synodical prep schools.  Since moving to Powell, Pastor and his wife have been blessed with three daughters.

Pastor Kuehl holds a B.A. from Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN, and an M.Div. from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, WI.  As part of his training for the ministry, he spent a year serving as a student pastor (i.e. "vicar") at Grace Lutheran Church, Falls Church, VA.

Pastor Kuehl considers it a privilege to share God's all-powerful Word and to serve people with its powerful message.  He would love to meet you and serve you and your family in whatever way he can!  You can message Pastor Kuehl HERE

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— ~ Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)
